ZeroTo510 Teams Pitch at Demo Day; Three Selected for Launch Tennessee’s The TENN
After 90 days of intensive entrepreneurial programming, mentorship and a $50,000 investment, six start-up medical device companies – AIS Inc., Better Walk, Cuff-Mate, Health & Bliss, Mobilizer and View Medical – pitched their innovative products to potential investors at ZeroTo510’s Demo Day on August 8. Speakers included Joseph R. “Pitt” Hyde III, AutoZone founder and chairman of the board, Memphis Bioworks, and Charlie Brock, CEO, Launch Tennessee.
Following Demo Day, Innova and MB Venture Partners will select finalists, who will receive as much as $100,000 in additional capital infusion and the opportunity to further develop their business. Total follow-on investments will be announced in the coming weeks.
In total, the program has accelerated the creation of 12 new companies, more than 25 local jobs, and generated more than $4 million in investments. The six companies that participated in the 2012 ZeroTo510 cohort also continue to build their businesses here in Tennessee. Among these companies’ successes: one is in the marketplace generating revenue, one has treated its first patient, and one is in the final stages of receiving its FDA clearance.

In addition, three of the ZeroTo510 teams have been chosen for The TENN, Launch Tennessee’s first master accelerator program. After hearing 20 pitches at a statewide demo day on August 27, a panel of out-of-state investors chose 10 companies for the program. Four of the 10 companies are Memphis-based, including Health & Bliss, Mobilizer and View Medical from ZeroTo510. To read the full news release, click here.
