September 2016 Luncheon: Upleveling from Manager Mentality to CEO Behaviors

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – September 16, 2016 – NAWBO Memphis – NAWBO Memphis (National Association of Women Business Owners, Memphis Chapter) held its September luncheon on Tuesday, September 13th at Local on Overton Square. In our first-ever NAWBO Memphis Member Spotlight, Erica Hill, co-owner of Fusion Fitness Memphis, gave a short talk about the importance of taking care of yourself so that you are able to take care of everyone and everything else in your life. Erica’s statement, “You can’t pour from an empty cup,” truly resonated with the audience. Tuesday’s keynote speaker, Gina Trimarco of Carolina Improv and Pivot10 Results, shared a personal and heartfelt testimony of her journey in growing her businesses and transitioning from a managerial to an executive role. She stressed the importance of setting goals, hiring great people, and delegating in order to scale up.

We would sincerely like to thank all the wonderful women who joined us for the luncheon yesterday. Everyone learned some very valuable lessons in scaling up and changing their behaviors and mindsets to reflect a CEO mentality, rather than focusing on and getting bogged down by managerial tasks. Gina does a fantastic job of leading by example, and her continued success as Chief Results Officer is proof that she has transformed from manager to executive.

If you are not yet a NAWBO Memphis member, now is an excellent time to join! NAWBO National is holding a membership drive through October 31; new and former members save $25! Memberships start for a little as $19.95 per month with a $75 initiation fee.
