An event not to be missed! Morgan Stanley and NAWBO are partnering together to bring one of the most dynamic women leaders of this generation to Memphis – Carla Harris.

Carla Harris, Author of “Expect to Win,” is Vice Chairman of Global Wealth Management, Managing Director and Senior Client Advisor at Morgan Stanley.  She formerly headed the Emerging Manager Platform and was a Managing Director in the Strategic client Group providing investment advice to Corporations, Public Pension Plan, Foundations, and Endowment.

For more than a decade, Ms. Harris was a senior member of the equity syndicate desk and executed such transactions as initial public offerings for UPS, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Ariba, the $3.2 Billion common stock transaction for  Immunex Corporation, one of the largest biotechnology offerings in U.S. history and others.

Ms. Harris was recently named to:

Essence Magazine’s list of “The 50 Women Who are Shaping the World,” Fortune’s “The Most Influential List” and The Most Powerful Black Executives in Corporate America,” Ebony’s list of “15 Corporate Women at The Top,” Black Enterprise Magazine’s “Top 75 Most Powerful Women in Business” and “Top 75 African Americans on Wall Street.”  In August 2013, Ms. Harris was appointed as the Chairperson of the National Women’s Business Council.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 1987, Ms. Harris graduated from Harvard Business School with an MBA, Second Year Honors  and an AB in Economics from Harvard University, Magna Cum Laude.

She is also the author of “Expect to Win” and is an accomplished gospel singer, selling out concerts at Carnegie Hall.
