We're very excited to have special guest Amy Faulk speak about what she's learned in her careers as a racecar driver and as CEO of Hypertech Inc.

About Amy Faulk

Dubbed “The Winningest Woman in Racing” by the National Hot Rod Association, Amy Faulk overcame numerous challenges and enjoys an amazing career as both a racecar driver and entrepreneur. Amy is CEO of automotive technology manufacturer Hypertech Inc, and has been racing in Memphis since she was 21 years old; she’s the first female National Hot Rod Association World Champion in the Sportsman category, and she won the NHRA World Championship in 1979. Her racing experience opened up a lot of doors for her professionally. The automotive after-market industry was, and still is, incredibly male-dominated, but Amy is working to change this—she and a friend created the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Businesswomen’s Network and started a scholarship to support women in the industry. So far, Amy and her racer friends have raised over $1 million for the scholarship fund. When asked how her racing experience has helped her in her role as CEO, she replied, “It’s decision-making. One of the things you learn in racing is you don’t panic. Also you learn that you’re in 100% control of everything that you’re doing in that car. It’s the same thing in business. You have to take control of situations, and whatever decision you make, you have to accept responsibility.”
